Gibbs Roofing Company celebrated its twenty-fifth year in business, in 2008. Established in 1983, they have been providing expert roofing services, especially in the areas of tile and slate roofing.

Owner, Doug Gibbs, has been installing roofs on residential and commercial buildings for over 40 years. Between 1969 and 1982 he worked for several union roofing companies where he gained valuable experience with all types of roofing materials. In 1971, Gibbs graduated from the A.F.L.-C.I.O roofer’s three-year apprenticeship program. At the time this made him the youngest union journeyman in the Los Angeles area.

After moving to Skagit County in the 1990’s, Gibbs decided to work primarily with tile and slate roofing. “Tile and slate roofs require very little maintenance,” he said. “These roofs will last for over fifty years – and they’re fire retardant.”
