The story of Ludowici begins in Italy over 400 years ago...

Where rich clay born from the earth was combined with water, carefully shaped into roof tile, and hand-colored by skilled artisans. The tiles were then subject to ragin fire, vitrifying them into durable, strong, virtually impermeable works of art.

Known for their beautiful shapes and hues, Ludowici tiles were shipped across Europe, ultimately gracing some of the most magnificent chateaux, universities, cathedrals, and other such buildings yet dreamed by man.

Today, Ludowici is proudly based in the United States, where is has been in continuous production since 1888.
